Mai Ahmed Fatty, Leader of the Gambia Moral Congress (GMC) party has said that as fundamental as it is, the Gambia is losing its balance as a nation.

“Our founding fathers from Edward Francis Small to Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara, had a great vision, but that vision today is at a major risk.”

“The politics of this country have transformed. We are no longer that homogenous society that cares for each other. We are no longer that society that values respect. We are no longer that society that puts framework at industry and hard-work. We are drifting in an ocean.”

The GMC leader also said that the major threat to the Gambia is social disharmony.

“People are dying in this country every day. They don’t know where to treat themselves, because the health care system is terrible.”

He added that there are hundreds of thousands of people in this country without portable water.

GMC Leader said that the Gambia educational system is failing because it is producing a failure meal which is taking the country deep in poverty. But he said It is important for citizens to come together as a country and as citizens to address it because there has to be convergent of thoughts. So that they can change this ‘undesirable tragedy’ of the country.

Fatty made these remarks on Wednesday while addressing the media at his party’s secretariat along the Kairaba Avenue.
