The German Federal Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development described The Gambia as a ‘Wonderful Country but still Very Poor’.

“Gambia and Germany have close friendship. This is a wonderful country but still [a] very poor country. And therefore, Germany invests in the future of children, eradicating hunger in the rural areas and poorness,” Gerd Muller said.

“I talked with your president an hour ago and the message is [about] children’s future, schools- education must become the first priority in the country. We thank and support SOS schools, the teachers and the representatives,” he concluded.
