The Ministry of justice have conducted nation wide tours to involve Gambians both adults and children in the transitional justice period and the introduction of the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparation Commission and why this cause is needed to head forward as a nation after 22 years of dictatorship.
The Ministry of Justice, relying on an act of the national assembly establishing the TRRC, is desirous of the need to establish a balanced and impartial Commission that is reflective of the geographic, gender, religious and cultural diversity of The Gambia and is capable of delivering results that meet the expectations of the people of The Gambia;
The process in appointing members of the Truth Reconciliation and Reparation Commission will be completed by February 28, according to an official communication from the ministry of justice.
The TRRC is composed of Gambians of high moral character and integrity who have distinguished themselves in their respective fields of vocation or communities,”
The appointment will be completed by the 28th of February 2018.
