A clash between two communities in Kombo South over land dispute has left one dead.
Buba Jammeh, a native of Gunjur, has died after he was reportedly shot with a rifle reportedly by an unidentified native of Berending.
The Saturday afternoon clash, according to local sources, resulted to several injuries. Eye witnesses report use of weapons, including hunting guns by people to attack each other.
An eye-witness told The Chronicle that he saw ‘many people’ covered in blood as a result of injuries they sustained from the clash. The police are said to have made several arrests in Berending over the past hour.
But clashes are still ongoing. Few minutes paramilitary have arrived at Gungur to prevent natives from retaliating. Tear gas has been fired by police to control angry crowd in Gunjur.
