Papa Njie, the new leader of the People’s Progressive Party, has visited the founder leader of Gambia Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara on Thursday.
The visit came following a contested party congress which gave lead to Papa Njie over Bakary Bunja Darboe.
Njie defeated Darboe by a margin of 45 votes but the Interim National President of the party, Alh. Yahya Ceesay; Dudu Taal, Member of the National Executive Committee and Kalilou Singhateh, Member of the National Executive Committee said the votes were marred with irregularities.
“We just went there to greet him as the founding founder of the party,” Njie told Kerr Fatou over the phone.
Njie said there was no discussion on the contested party congress results. He said he will organize a press conference to address issues relating to the congress.
