Jesus Badjie bounces back as police commissioner

Former police chief, Essa Badjie alias Jesus have been reinstated into the police force as the commissioner responsible for Crime Management.

Jesus was jailed during Yahya Jammeh’s regime with an alleged drug and armed robbery related charges, a charge he denied during his testimony at the TRRC.

Mr. Badjie, who is now the Crime coordinator (CMC) at the police headquarters in Banjul, was also accused for abuse of power during Jammeh’s time.

Jesus Badjie after his reinstatement, reported for work on Monday at the Banjul headquarters.

In another development, President Adama Barrow has also reinstated former boss of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Pateh Jallow as Deputy Police Commissioner responsible for operations.
