IEC Falls Short Of 1 Million Voters Target

The Independent Electoral Commission has fallen short of the 1 million voters it targeted in the just concluded general voter registration.

The commission has today announced registering 987, 484 voters from 29th May to 11th July; falling short of its target by 12, 516 voters.

For Week one, the commission registered 191, 509 voters- 109, 675 are females and 81, 834 are males.

For Week two, 184, 583 voters have been registered- 104, 951 are females and 79,632 are males.

For week three, 180, 674 voters have been registered- 103, 367 are females and 77, 307 are males.

For week four, the commission registered 163, 628 voters- 93, 326 are females and 70, 302 are males.

For week five, 136, 325 voters have been registered- 77, 097, females and 59, 228 males have been registered.

For the final week [week six], 130, 765 voters have been registered which brought the total number of registered voters to 987, 484, of which 559, 996 are females and 427, 488 are males.
