After receiving his dose, the Governor of the North Bank Region, Lamin Saidykhan, has called on Gambians especially those classified as a ‘high-risk group’ to be available for vaccination to save others.
“I want to take this opportunity to call on every patriotic Gambian especially those regarded as a high risk group to help protect themselves, their families and the entire population of The Gambia from this dangerous disease by making themselves available for vaccination.”
He made this call at the regional launch of the covid-19 vaccine in Farafenni on Wednesday.
The Gambia has received the first shipment of 36,000 dozes of COVID-19 Vaccines on 2nd March. And Senegal also donated 10, 000 doses of Sino-Pharma vaccine as a solidarity.
Out of the 36,000 doses 4, 500 doses have been allocated to the North Bank Region East to start with the priority groups.
The vaccination has already begun across the country with more than 6, 000 people already inoculated, according to the 288th national situation report dubbed SitRep published 29th March 2021.
