The Youth President of Gambia Democratic Congress [GDC] has said that the televising of the night patrol by police will make criminals privy to plans against them.
“IGP’s latest decision on night patrols with his men should not be televised or shown on Facebook live as it will help criminals to be on the alert and will hide.
“It doesn’t add up and the criminals will be aware of their plans and strategies against them. There is no way that the police can wipe out all the criminals, if their operations are shown live on social media. This is a cause for concern and the police should take note of that,” MC Cham said.
Although, the GDC Youth President faulted the televising of the activity, he
commended the work of the Inspector General of police.
Cham suggested that, If the police want to wipe out criminals they should stop the Facebook live coverage of the night patrols.
However, he finally lauded the constituting of ‘Operation Zero Crime’.
“The initiative is very good and the IGP and his team are doing a wonderful job,” he said.
